The Locomotive Technician 1 assists other Locomotive Technicians in the maintenance, repair and inspection of GATX-owned locomotives. Ensures that all necessary work order information is complete in order to facilitate correct and timely customer billing. Must understand and follow GATX and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures. Must demonstrate good teamwork skills and knowledge of FRA regulations.
The Locomotive Technician 1 partners with the manager and other site personnel to ensure certifications, customer suitability requirements and other job requirements remain current. Works toward obtaining the skills necessary to advance to Locomotive Technician 2.

The HYBRID Reliability Engineering role, will require an engineer with experience in mechanical design and analysis with a focus on component Reliability. A knowledge of how piping and valves components work in addition to an understanding of component inspection techniques is desired. Any experience with rail tank car valves and running gear components is a plus. The candidate will be expected to have skills that support GATX engineering’s data analytics and reliability analysis efforts; and the ability to create and develop reliability plans and projects from a strategic perspective. This position will also leverage data analysis to influence railroads, government and industry rule-making authorities toward decisions in the business interest of GATX. The position is expected to significantly impact Safety, Quality, Delivery and Costs objectives with these efforts.

Overview:
The Mobile Railcar Repair Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the customer site including the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans, programs and processes that ensure achievement of the location’s Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives. The Mobile Railcar Repair Manager leads the location through Goal Deployment and Continuous Improvement efforts directed at creating business and process improvements. This person will use a Continuous Improvement mindset along with the SQDC methodology to lead and prioritize the team efforts.
Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers as well as the location’s workforce. This person will provide direction and motivation to the workforce to ensure performance metrics are achieved. Ensures consistent and fair administration of employee policies and procedures. Ensures accurate and timely reporting.

The HYBRID Sr. Mechanical Records Analyst provides analysis, support and data management of the GATX North American fleet. The scope of activities for the role include maintenance and management of documentation for GATX and regulatory agencies, monitoring data quality, providing information, solving process and data problems and answering questions both internally and externally.
Position Purpose: Assists Railcar Cleaners with all aspects of railcar cleaning. Sets up and operates cleaning equipment, hoses, hand tools, power tools, pumps, sampling devices, measuring devices, protective clothing, and air respirators.
Other work related tasks as assigned.

This HYBRID position supports the railcar product engineering function for a group of railcar product codes. The incumbent is part of a team that delivers product specifications, work instructions, and support to procure, optimize and maintain a portfolio of railcar products that meet or exceed customer, GATX, and regulatory requirements. This position requires expert-level experience in railcar engineering and proven ability to lead others to achieve impactful results with minimal supervision.
Assists Railcar Mechanic in all aspects of repairing GATX owned railcars, while also learning more advanced skills. Accurately completes required documentation directly related to repairs performed. Position Purpose: The person in this role will be responsible for ensuring that wagon manufacturers meet GATX guidelines and requirements in regards to quality. Towards the same, the person in this role will set up the Quality Assurance processes and system. The person will also ensure that these wagons are manufactured as per guidelines and technical standards issued by RDSO and IR. This position will also be responsible for the carrying out inspections of used (existing) wagons owned and for monitoring the repair and maintenance activities of the wagons.
