The Risk Management Coordinator is primarily responsible for the coordination and maintenance of incoming and outgoing insurance certificates. Assists with the annual insurance renewal process. Responsible for coordinating activities that improve the verification of GATX, GABX, and LTL (fleet managed for Brookfield) risk transfer to contractual counterparties.

 

This position will interact with all levels of employees throughout the company, including executive management, as well as external contacts. This position requires independent thought, attention to detail, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

Qualified candidates who are currently Wells Fargo Rail employees will be given priority consideration over other external applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with broker offices to issue certificates of insurance on behalf of GATX, GABX, and LTL.
  • Collects and tracks insurance certificates for certain rail lessees, all locomotive lessees, GATX, GABX, and LTL rail and locomotive contract shops and third party maintenance providers.
  • Contacts customers and/or their brokers to acquire missing and expired certificates and to request corrections in order to meet specific contract requirements.
  • Stores insurance certificates and pertinent correspondence in department G drive.
  • Manages insurance certificates and compliance using the Origami information system by building and maintaining individual profiles for each tracked customer and maintenance provider. Prepares reports to identify specific information and trends in order to improve compliance.
  • Prepares quarterly customer compliance reports for the Insurance Risk Management team.
  • Enters GATX, GABX, and LTL insurance information into third party insurance management systems of certain GATX, GABX, and LTL customers and vendors.
  • Work with IT and various stakeholders to improve effectiveness of Salesforce for lessee insurance information collection and managing contractual insurance requirements.
  • Distributes third party incident notices to our broker for further distribution to  GATX, GABX, and LTL insurers.  Collects and files carrier acknowledgments and other related communication in the department G drive.  Creates incident profiles in Origami and enters quarterly legal fees.
  • Tracks third party incidents on Notice of Occurrence spreadsheet for annual submission to  GATX, GABX, and LTL insurers.
  • Processes all department and/or insurance program related invoices through AP system, including coding and routing for the appropriate approvals.  Monitors SAP for payment confirmation of all invoices.
  • Oversees GATX’s Surety and Notary Bonds by assisting in procurement of new bonds from our broker, tracking existing bonds and ensuring that annual premiums are paid by the appropriate departments.  Submits quarterly bond report to Treasury.
  • Administers new legacy GATX entity asbestos litigation claims. Reviews complaints to create Origami profiles. Enters quarterly asbestos legal fees into Origami.  Produces updated activity reports for the insurers.
  • Obtains vehicle information for the annual renewal of the corporate automobile liability policy and coordinates the issuance of new auto id cards to GATX drivers.
  • Coordinates the annual distribution of new workers’ compensation insurance posting notices at GATX locations as required by law.
  • Manages Corporate Insurance information posted on iSite.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of insurance and risk management is preferred.

Min

USD $54,700.00/Yr.

Max

USD $75,500.00/Yr.

 

This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.

 

This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
