The Fleet Management Specialist is responsible for the coordination and completion of activities related to the order fulfillment process and delivery of rail cars on time and as requested. Specifically, the position will perform and manage numerous functions revolving around the contractual assignment and delivery of rail cars while maintaining a customer focus in order to meet customer expectations.

 

Qualified candidates who are currently Wells Fargo Rail employees will be given priority consideration over other external applicants.

Responsibilities

Order review, entry and full on time execution of an order is a main focus of this job. In order to do this appropriately, numerous steps are required. These include:

  • Order review and entry.
  • Correct contract assignment and rental billing of cars.
  • Ordering cars from storage and tracing cars to insure they are in transit.
  • Creating service instructions for cars going to a repair facility.
  • Facilitate conversion requests for correct car delivery and work with engineering to insure conversion instructions are being completed promptly.
  • Identifying chargeable items for the billing group.
  • Providing updates and communicating order delivery.
  • Trouble-shooting and creating solutions when unforeseen issues occur in order to meet on time delivery.

Additional cross-functional activities include but are not limited to:

  • Involvement with process improvement and cross functional teams.
  • Working with the Fleet Billing Specialist in order to support the overall departmental effort for a sales region.
  • Assisting with other Fleet Management and Service Delivery activities as required (New cars, releases, rental billing, storage, scrap, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable
  • Experience in the rail industry is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of rail car types and mechanical aptitude not critical but must be able to learn quickly in the position
  • Previous SAP experience desired
  • Minimal travel required

This is a hybrid position which will require the employee to work in the office at least 3 days a week throughout the year.

As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:

Min

USD $68,600.00/Yr.

Max

USD $81,400.00/Yr.

 

This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.

 

This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
