The purpose of the Sr. Utilization Lease Analyst is to review and analyze revenue/expense activity associated with GATX’s portfolio of utilization-based leases for the Rail Commercial Group assessments to maximize profitability. This position will be required to work independently to review, reconcile, and ensure that for GATX’s rail-marked equipment fleet, all car hire and maintenance activity is accounted for properly per lease contract terms. In addition, this role will have oversight of the third-party vendor’s and/or leasing railroads reporting this activity.

 

Qualified candidates who are currently Wells Fargo Rail employees will be given priority consideration over other external applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Report on, process, and audit all revenues from utilization-based leases, including car-hire based leases, trip leases, and any and all other non-fixed-rate leases for owned and managed cars.
  • Administer and update contract lease term rates via 3rd Party’s application(s)- RAILINC’s Car Hire Rate Negotiation Self Service and GE’s Account Receivable Contract Rate File.
  • Audit and reconcile monthly car hire revenue exception reports for potential lost revenue, this would be determined by identifying uncollected car hire, ensuring accurate issuant of car hire claims, and problem resolution of the fleet’s error default rates changes.
  • Generate (estimated) summary report(s) on the utilization-based lease deals, outlining current monthly car hire revenue and maintenance activity for Commercial Meeting overview.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis of Utilization lease’s car hire revenue and maintenance expense.
  • Manage yearly revalidation through RAILINC’s Letter of Authorization (LOA) application of rail marks that GATX acts as mark agent for within the industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in various railcar leasing functions and/or railroad operations.
  • Knowledge of utilization-based railcar leasing and related systems and processes (including Railinc systems and databases like UMLER and CHARM).
  • Understanding of rail industry rules and processes governing railcar utilization, including the Code of Car Hire Rules, the Code of Car Service Rules, circular OT-10, and other related rules and processes.
  • Knowledge of SAP (minimum of 2 years of experience).
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

This is a hybrid position that will require the employee to work in the office at least 3 days a week throughout the year.

Min

USD $78,800.00/Yr.

Max

USD $101,500.00/Yr.

 

This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.

 

This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
