The Sr. AAR Services Analyst is responsible for the review, shopping and processing of railcars identified though damaged and defective car tracking (DDCT) incidents for the GATX Rail fleet and is responsible for providing home shop disposition, actual depreciation values (DVs) and settlement when cars are considered destroyed by railroads. This position will also provide billing, and analytics support related to damaged and destroyed cars, car repair billing and AAR services group metrics.

 

Qualified candidates who are currently Wells Fargo Rail employees will be given priority consideration over other external applicants.

Responsibilities

Process incoming Rule 1, 107 & 108 DDCT incidents

  • Depending on rule provide depreciated value, home shop disposition or settlement decision within time limits.
  • Communicate with GATX customer service group and railroads as needed.
  • Update DDCT and GATX systems accordingly.
  • Incumbent will need to build strong relationships with their railroad counterparts.

Manage all aspects of damaged and destroyed car incidents

  • Create depreciated value statements for railcars
  • Communicate with all relevant internal groups at GATX during processing
  • Work with legal group on all settlement offer decisions
  • Maintain internal systems ensuring damaged and destroyed cars are identified, processed and reported appropriately.

Review incoming Rule 107 & Rule 95 JIC’s and BRC’s from owned and contract repair shops

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency with AAR rules
  • Confirm all damage is captured and reported.
  • Handle all correspondence with railroad in regard to JIC’s, BRC’s and railroad damage.

Monthly Billing Process (Incoming and Outgoing)

  • Matching individual incoming invoice amounts to monthly Railinc reports
  • Summarize invoices for payment processing and interface with AP for payment processing
  • Prepare and summarize batches for AP processing
  • Reconcile and report monthly invoice payment statuses
  • Prepare approval document(s) for proper electronic signature(s).
  • Work with billing and contract groups to set up new vendors
  • Serve as backup for processing of monthly CRBDX file
  • Assist in data entry of billable items (repairs, rebuttals, destroyed, CBA’s)

PowerBI Reporting

  • Assist in current analysis reporting and future ad-hoc analysis
  • Develop and maintain new reports for AAR Services as necessary

The Sr. AAR Services Analyst has extensive contact with railroad representatives, and the following GATX teams: Customer Service, Mechanical Records, Maintenance Logistics and Legal. Incumbent will need to build positive relationships with their railroad counterparts. Maintaining timely and efficient communication within GATX is critical to this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, which may include experience working with railcar repairs, experience working with AAR interchange billing rules, and/or experience working within Railinc DDCT system.
  • Knowledge of AAR Rules and Damaged and Defective Car Tracking DDCT system.
  • Strong railcar technical knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and PowerBI.

This is a hybrid position that will require the employee to work in the office at least 3 days a week throughout the year.

As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:

Min

USD $78,800.00/Yr.

Max

USD $98,000.00/Yr.

 

This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.

 

This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
