The Locomotive Compliance Analyst will play an integral part of GATX’s locomotive maintenance network and will primarily be responsible for providing direct compliance support to the locomotive maintenance team. Key components of the position will include: keeping abreast of EPA compliance of GATX’s fleet of locomotives, developing and maintaining records that relate to all aspects of locomotive maintenance (including EPA compliance), and providing in-depth analysis of locomotive fleet performance.

 

Qualified candidates who are currently Wells Fargo Rail employees will be given priority consideration over other external applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Locomotive Mechanical Analysis & Support
    • Provide in-depth analysis of locomotive fleet performance in order to ensure GATX’s locomotive fleet is in compliance with Federal Agencies’ requirements.
    • Develop and maintain locomotive mechanical compliance records in conjunction with various GATX groups.
    • Work with locomotive mechanical personnel to develop component change out forms with regards to keeping up to date changing out records of GATX locomotive components.
    • Evaluate key performance metrics and evaluate ways to improve those mechanical compliance metrics.
    • Evaluate performance of both net lease fleet and contract maintenance fleet and determine ways to improve efficiency in regards to Quality, Delivery and Cost.
    • Analyze mechanical records of Environmental Protection Agency to ensure GATX maintains compliance with all relevant regulations.
    • Collaborate with Manager, Locomotive Compliance to ensure work scopes with regards to government regulations are accurate and in compliance.
    • Perform field audits of key locomotive components to ensure current records are up to date.
    • Provide reports at the request of Director Locomotive Mechanical for use at the executive levels of GATX.
    • Submit waybill requests for locomotive movement.
  • Customer Support / Admin Activities
    • Provide ad hoc data analyses at the request of commercial team members regarding locomotive specifications.
    • Enter data from field inspections to ensure locomotive records are up to date and accurate.
    • Serve as a resource for other GATX Rail Locomotive personnel regarding questions surrounding current locomotive records and federal regulations.
    • Review customer leases to ensure all customers are up to date on locomotive mechanical records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of locomotive EPA emissions standards and compliance requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of FRA requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the following systems:
    • Excel
    • MS Power BI
    • SAP
  • Experience managing multiple, complex projects at a time.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), or the ability to obtain.
  • Extensive travel all over North America – estimated up to 40%
  • Must be physically capable of climbing on locomotives

Min

USD $68,600.00/Yr.

Max

USD $75,000.00/Yr.

 

This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.

 

This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
