The purpose of the EHS Manager is to provide leadership over the EHS function to ensure a safe and secure environment for our employees, contractors, visitors and the surrounding community in cooperation with facility and corporate Operations and EHS objectives, targets and goals. To ensure compliance with all EHS regulatory and Responsible Care requirements. To understand and strategically reduce EHS risk to all stakeholders via a proactive and continuous improvement approach.

Scope of Work:
This position will interact with senior executives, functional leaders, service center managers, supervisors and operations employees at the facility. Key functional groups and customers for this position are EHS, Quality, Operations, Inspections, Materials, NDE, Customer Service, Engineering, external regulatory agencies, and Maintenance Procurement among others.
This position will focus on research and analysis of environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability related issues. It is an independent, cross-functional key position that contributes significant knowledge and influence to the GATX Operations group in order to achieve our defined initiatives. The position must also be effective in working with and influencing shop employees. The position must also be effective in working directly and indirectly with regulatory and environmental consultants.
